Speaking Skills Workshop Held

Aiming to enhance students' speaking prowess, the Faculty of Languages and Translation recently conducted a workshop titled "Speaking Skills". The event took place on the 2nd of April, 2018, in the university's A/3/1 hall from 11 am to 12 pm. The session was organized by Dr. Mohammad Asif Ishfaq under the auspices of the Dean, Dr. Abdullah Al-Melhi, and Vice Dean, Dr. Yahya Asiri. Assisted by Mr. Mohammad Kamaluddin, the workshop successfully engaged the participation of approximately 35 students.

Abdullah Omar, a distinguished student who received the First-Class Honors Award for his exceptional academic performance in the M.A. in Applied Linguistics Program, has dedicated his success to his mother. "This achievement brings honor not only to my mother," he said, "but also to the Faculty of Languages and Translation. I hope it will inspire other students in the college to aim high."

In a seminar organized by the Language Research Center of King Khalid University, Mr. Salahud Din Abdul Rab demonstrated a valuable tool for research management, thereby expanding the knowledge horizon for his fellow academics. Held on March 28, 2018, his presentation cum workshop was aptly titled "Introduction to Mendeley: A Software Tool for Management of the Research Work," wherein he accentuated its principal features and utility.

Launch of Community Service-Oriented English Language Course at Abha General Prison

Commencing on Sunday, March 25, 2018, this month-long course will serve as a valuable opportunity for inmates, equipping them with the necessary skills for a successful transition back into society upon their release from the correctional facility.

Session 2 of the Sister to Sister Program

The Faculty of Languages & Translation at the Women's Campus held the second session of the Sister to Sister Program, an initiative organized by the Scientific Research Committee, on March 19, 2018. The program is designed to inspire and uplift undergraduate students by presenting them with real-life examples of overcoming challenges and achieving goals. These examples were delivered by Master's students who candidly shared their experiences.
