The Scientific Research Committee of the Faculty of Languages and Translation recently held an enlightening two-hour workshop on April 9, 2018. The purpose of the workshop was to familiarize faculty members and MA students with the intricacies of Rbrul software.

The session was led by Dr. Khairia Abudadi, who presented an insightful introduction to the Rbrul software. Throughout her presentation, Dr. Khairia used a hands-on approach, supplementing her discussion with practical examples and supporting materials distributed to the attendees.

Last week, the department celebrated the graduation of the Spring 2018 class with heartfelt gratitude to the English Club for sponsoring this significant event. The ceremony was punctuated by a diverse range of speakers and engaging activities.

On April 4, 2018, the 13^th Annual Research Day took place at King Khalid University under the guidance of Dr. Ismail Al-Refaai, Director of the Language Research Center. The event was inaugurated with a recitation from the Qur'an, followed by welcoming remarks from Dr. Abdullah Al-Melhi, Dean of the Faculty of Languages and Translation. Dr. Al-Melhi underlined the importance of academic events and expressed his appreciation for faculty members who contributed their research to the event.

On April 3, 2018, a seminar was held at King Khalid University's Faculty of Languages and Translation, featuring Dr. Abdulrahman Almosa as the presenter. The subject matter was based on Dr. Almosa's dissertation titled "Multimedia Assisted Language Learning (MMALL) Facilitating L2 Listening Comprehension in an EFL Classroom." He provided insights into the challenges students face in understanding spoken language and how MMALL can serve as a solution.

Aiming to enhance students' speaking prowess, the Faculty of Languages and Translation recently conducted a workshop titled "Speaking Skills". The event took place on the 2^nd of April, 2018, in the university's A/3/1 hall from 11 am to 12 pm. The session was organized by Dr. Mohammad Asif Ishfaq under the auspices of the Dean, Dr. Abdullah Al-Melhi, and Vice Dean, Dr. Yahya Asiri. Assisted by Mr. Mohammad Kamaluddin, the workshop successfully engaged the participation of approximately 35 students.

The English Club at the Women's College, under the auspices of the Faculty of Languages and Translation, recently hosted an engaging developmental awareness program titled "New Beginning". The enriching event took place on Wednesday, the 28th of May, and lasted from 10 am to 12 pm.

The Scientific Research Committee of the Female Campus at the Faculty of Languages and Translation was invited by the Society Service and Continuous Learning Committee of the Faculty of Society in Khamis Mushait. The purpose of the invite was to enable a select group of accomplished students to participate in a workshop titled "Scientific Research Skills", held on Tuesday, March 27, 2018.

Abdullah Omar, a distinguished student who received the First-Class Honors Award for his exceptional academic performance in the M.A. in Applied Linguistics Program, has dedicated his success to his mother. "This achievement brings honor not only to my mother," he said, "but also to the Faculty of Languages and Translation. I hope it will inspire other students in the college to aim high."

In a seminar organized by the Language Research Center of King Khalid University, Mr. Salahud Din Abdul Rab demonstrated a valuable tool for research management, thereby expanding the knowledge horizon for his fellow academics. Held on March 28, 2018, his presentation cum workshop was aptly titled "Introduction to Mendeley: A Software Tool for Management of the Research Work," wherein he accentuated its principal features and utility.

The Faculty of Languages and Translation at our esteemed institution is proud to announce the launch of a community service-oriented English language course in collaboration with the Abha General Prison. Commencing on Sunday, March 25, 2018, this month-long course will serve as a valuable opportunity for inmates, equipping them with the necessary skills for a successful transition back into society upon their release from the correctional facility.
