clt Welcomes Class of 2022 at Freshman Orientation Day

Under the supervision of Dr. Abdullah Al-Melhi, the Dean of the Faculty of Languages and Translation (clt), and organized by the English Club, first-year students gathered for the Academic Year 2018-2019 Freshman Orientation Day on Wednesday, September 12.

The Class of 2022 convened for the first time in room A/3/60, where they were warmly received by various administrators, teachers, and the president of the English Club.

clt Delivers In-Service Professional Development for MOE Teachers

In a recent collaboration between the Deanship of Community Service and Continuing Education and the Faculty of Languages and Translation, an introductory-level short course was offered to primary, secondary, and high school teachers employed by the Ministry of Education. Dr. Alward Receives an Appreciation Letter from the Dean

Dr. Mohammed Alward recently received an acknowledgment from the Dean of the Faculty of Languages and Translation, Dr. Abdullah Al-Melhi, for his innovative application of technology. Dr. Alward developed a grade calculation tool using Microsoft Excel that has greatly streamlined the process of producing grade distributions required for comprehensive course reports.

On April 25, 2018, the Language Research Center at King Khalid University hosted a seminar featuring a presentation by Dr. Mohammad Osman. The presentation, titled "Humor in Mark Twain's Fiction," explored the prominent use of humor in the works of this renowned American author.

Dr. Osman began his discussion with an introduction to Mark Twain, invoking Ernest Hemingway's quote from 1935, “All modern American Literature comes from one book by Mark Twain called Huckleberry Finn.” This quotation underscored Twain's substantial influence on American literature.
