Al-Dhikr High School Visits the clt Female Campus

Fostering strong ties with both government and private educational institutions, the Faculty of Languages and Translation (clt) at our female campus recently welcomed a delegation from Al-Dhikr High School. This delegation consisted of 20 senior students and three teachers. The visit began with an informative orientation hosted by the English Club, which offered a detailed overview of the faculty and the English program.

On November 29, 2017, the Language Research Center hosted a seminar featuring a presentation by MA students Shaymaa' Hasan Abdullah and Fayzah Nasser Mohaya. Titled 'Translation of Metaphor,' their talk was based on research conducted under the supervision of Dr. Eyhab A. Bader Eddin. The discussion focused on the distinct strategies in metaphor translation, specifically deliberating on whether to adopt a literal or a free translation approach.

Speculations on Literature

On November 27, 2017, Dr. Mahmoud Radwan delivered an engaging seminar presentation for the English Club at King Khalid University. The focus of his discourse was the vital role of literature and language, aptly titled "Speculations on Literature."

Dr. Radwan aimed to illuminate the profound significance of literature in the formation of cultures, nations, language development, and, specifically, language learning. His presentation encompassed an in-depth exploration of literary genres, elements, periods, and featured examples from both English and Arabic literary works.

Sister to Sister Program

The Faculty of Languages & Translation's Female Campus recently hosted a program organized by the Scientific Research Committee entitled "Sister-to-Sister." Held on November 20, 2017, the initiative was designed to motivate and inspire undergraduate students. To achieve this, three Master's degree students shared their personal experiences of facing and overcoming substantial challenges in pursuit of their academic goals.
