Nabeel Ali Sayed, a student pursuing an MA in the clt, recently presented his research on the genetic relationship between English and Arabic. The presentation, titled "Arabic is in English," was part of an empirically based Etymological study organized by the Language Research Center on October 17, 2016.

From October 9 to 12, 2016, three esteemed members of the Faculty of Languages and Translation—Dr. Salem bin Dawood, Mr. Matthew Paul, and Mr. Erich Beer—delivered a comprehensive International Testing Training Seminar, focusing on STEP, TOEFL, and IELTS, at Abha Technical College. The seminar drew the attendance of thirteen dedicated staff members from the English Language Center.

Overseen by Dr. Abdullah Al-Melhi, Dean of the Faculty, the E-Learning Unit initiated an "E-Learning Awareness Campaign" tailored for first-level students of the English Language Center (ELC). The campaign spanned from Sunday, October 9 to Thursday, October 13, 2016.

Dr. Ali Alamir, Vice Dean, and Mr. Abdullah Al Rezgi, Director of the English Language Center, commended the efforts of the E-Learning Unit in orchestrating this beneficial initiative. They pledged their continued guidance and support to ensure the success of the orientation week.

On October 12, 2016, an orientation session was organized for the faculty members who newly joined the Faculty of Languages and Translation (clt) this semester. This annual event, conducted every academic year in the first semester, serves to acquaint our new colleagues with an overview of clt's various divisions and offices, clearly outlining the rights and responsibilities of each faculty member.

On October 3, 2016, the Language Research Center of King Khalid University hosted a seminar featuring insights from Mr. Mohsin Raza Khan. In a thought-provoking presentation titled "Incorporating Blackboard in EFL Teaching," Mr. Khan underscored the essential role of the Blackboard Learning Management System in modern English as a Foreign Language (EFL) instruction.

On September 28, 2016, the Faculty of Languages and Translation at King Khalid University welcomed a new cohort of students with a comprehensive Student Orientation Program for the Fall 2016 semester. The event was graciously led by Dean Dr. Abdullah Al-Melhi, who fulfilled the roles of both presenter and chief guest.

On September 26, 2016, the Faculty of Languages and Translation at King Khalid University proudly extended the Saudi National Day celebrations with a vibrant array of events. Both native and international students were in full attendance, immersing themselves in the celebratory atmosphere.

The English Club, led by Administrative Manager Muhammad Qiyas, along with the Media and Events Committee, were instrumental in creating and contributing to the festive spirit of the occasion. Their involvement served as a testament to the unity and camaraderie within the faculty.

His Excellency Prof. Falleh R. M. Al-Solamy, Rector of King Khalid University, recently honored Dr. Abdullah Al-Melhi, Dean of the Faculty of Languages and Translation, with a prestigious certificate of excellence. This accolade recognized Dr. Al-Melhi's pivotal role in the resounding success of the University's data analysis initiative under the Deanship of E-Learning.
