CLT Announces New PhD Program in Applied Linguistics

Under the guidance of Dean Abdullah Al-Melhi, the Faculty of Languages and Translation is proud to announce the launch of its inaugural Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) program, set to begin in the fall of 2020.

The new degree program will focus on applied linguistics and will be supervised by the English Department. The Ministry of Education granted approval for this program, aligning it with the standards set by the National Commission for Academic Accreditation and Assessment (NCAAA) and enabling enrollment to commence in the fall term.

On March 10, 2020, a university-wide workshop, titled 'Transformation to Full E-Learning,' was conducted by the E-Learning Unit Supervisor, Mohsin Khan. The Deanship of E-Learning's Training Manager, Mohammed Jarallah, supervised the workshop. Aimed to equip faculty members, both seasoned and novice users, with key knowledge on creating and posting documents, assignments, quizzes, tests, videos, and engaging in discussion boards, the workshop was a grand success, with nearly 200 attendees.

تكونت النزهة من عدة جلسات مختلفة ترفيهية وتعليمية ممتعة:
- (جلسة النقاش) والتي تحتوي على بطاقات مواضيع مختلفة وعلى الحضور إختيار موضوع وتبادل الحوار حوله.
- (جلسة التعليم الذاتي للغات) والتي جمعت طالبات تعلمن لغات مختلفة كاليابانية والكورية والصينية والتركية ويشرحن للحضور عن اللغة و طريقة تعلمهن لها.
