On March 14, 2021, faculty members from the Faculty of Languages and Translation were honored to attend an award ceremony at the General Directorate of Education in Asir. During the ceremony, the Vice Dean for Academic Development & Quality, Dr. Abdulrahman Almosa, received several appreciation plaques acknowledging the effective management and execution of the first-ever series of in-service EFL teacher training webinars for over 500 educators in the Asir Public School System.

In a webinar convened by the Language Research Center on March 10, 2021, Dr. Shazia Tabassum shed light on the topic of "Lexical Borrowing: French Loan Words into English." The session revolved around the enrichment of the English language lexicon through borrowing from other languages.

The Deanship of E-Learning recently held a two-day training course entitled "Applying the Quality Matters Rubric Workshop (Virtual)," under the watchful eye of E-Learning Supervisor, Mohsin Khan. The Quality Matters (QM) Rubric offers participants a robust introduction to best practices, principles of instructional design, and research-based design for online and hybrid courses, all aimed at ensuring quality assurance.
