Virtual Workshop Prepares Students for Jahiziya Exam

Organized by the Jahiziya Committee, with support from the Alumni Unit, the session aimed to guide students through the Jahiziya Exam—a national standardized test essential for assessing and sustaining academic programs in English language and linguistics.

Religious Translation Program Engages Female Students in Strengthening Islamic Beliefs

In an effort to promote the global dissemination of Islamic teachings, the College of Languages and Translation Club, in collaboration with the Deanship of Student Affairs for female students, organized a program titled "Religious Translation and Consolidating Our Beliefs." The event took place on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, at the entrance of Gate 9 in the Women's Complex in Al-Qureiqer, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

College of Languages and Translation Logo Redesign

At the start of the 2024-2025 academic year, King Khalid University’s College of Languages and Translation introduced a newly redesigned logo. Dr. Eisa Asiri, Chair of the Translation Department, led this project, creating two versions—one in Arabic and one in English. Both logos incorporate the university’s signature emblem, an abstracted Saudi palm tree, symbolizing growth, strength, and heritage.

Motivational Research Meets Practice: A Webinar by Dr. Bochra Kouraichi

The Scientific Research, Innovation, and Graduate Studies Unit of the College of Languages and Translation at King Khalid University organized a webinar on October 23, 2024. Dr. Bochra Kouraichi delivered a presentation titled "Motivational Research Meets Practice: A Reciprocal Approach to Inspire Students and Teachers." It was primarily based on her own experience with motivation research as a teacher and PhD student. Her aim was to encourage her PhD students and faculty members to apply motivational strategies in their research and to work in a more motivating environment.

PhD Defense Announcement: Study on Audio-Visual Input in EFL Vocabulary Learning

Najla Abdulrahman AlQahtani will defend her PhD dissertation examining how enhanced audio-visual materials and learning strategies affect vocabulary retention among Saudi female English learners at King Khalid University's College of Languages & Translation on November 5, 2024. The defense will be held in Room G-030 of the Graduate Studies Building and is open to all interested attendees, with a committee comprised of Prof. Munassir Alhamami, Dr. Fadi Al-Khasawneh, and Prof. Hameed Al-Zubeiry.
