The Faculty of Languages and Translation at King Khalid University rolled out the red carpet for its newest members on February 10, 2016, with a bespoke Student Orientation Program. The event was further elevated by the esteemed presence of Dr. Abdullah Al-Melhi, Dean of the Faculty, who donned dual roles as both a presenter and the chief guest.
King Khalid University's Language Research Center played host to an engaging seminar on February 10, 2016, featuring a presentation by the esteemed Dr. Mohammed Assiri, Vice Dean of Academic Development and Quality. Dr. Assiri illuminated the audience with his incisive talk titled, "Test Taking Strategy Use on the Reading Section of the TOEFL iBT: A Study of Arab ESL Learners."
Following the successful execution of the innovative "E-Learning Awareness Campaign," significant recognition was given to several dedicated teachers whose contributions were instrumental to the campaign. These educators, with their unyielding commitment to digital education, included Mr. Muhammed Kamaluddin, Mr. Ali Al-Amri, Mr. Jawed Ahmed, Mr. Rizwan Gani, Dr. Asif Ishafaq, Mr. Md Mazharul Islam, Mr. Md Sirajul Islam, Mr. Salahuddin, Mr. Md Mahmudul Haque, and Mr. Fazal Malik.
Under the auspices of Dean Dr. Abdullah Al-Melhi, the E-Learning Unit at the Faculty embarked on an innovative initiative, the “E-Learning Awareness Campaign.” The campaign, which ran from Sunday, January 31st, 2016 to Thursday, February 4th, 2016, was targeted primarily at level 1 students, aiming to guide them into the digital realm of learning.
On February 1, 2016, the Language Research Center marked its highly anticipated return from the semester break with an enlightening seminar. The seminar was spearheaded by Salahud Din Abdul Rab, Lecturer, who presented a captivating discourse titled 'NLP and Speed Language Learning.'
In an empowering educational initiative on January 26-27, 2016, a select team from the Faculty of Languages and Translation embarked on a journey to Tharban, Al Majardah Province. The team, constituted by four clt educators, conducted an interactive English language seminar, packed with motivational content for the teachers of the Mohaiyl region.

On January 25, 2016, Mr. Mohsin Raza Khan, E-Learning Supervisor, conducted a workshop on the application of the QM rubric in E-courses. The workshop was initiated by Dr. Fahad Otaif, Vice Dean for Academic Development and Quality, who welcomed all participants and emphasized the ongoing significance of the Faculty of Languages and Translation as a leader in QM E-course implementation. The workshop was also attended by Vice Dean Dr. Ali Alamir and Dean Dr. Abdullah Al-Melhi, who highlighted the crucial role of the QM rubric in E-course design.
In a groundbreaking initiative, the Faculty of Languages and Translation organized a computer-based test (CBT) for the 2nd Midterm Exam in the International Test Preparation (ITP) Course. Spearheaded by Hassan Costello and Matthew Paul, the CBT marked the introduction of the IELTS Online Assessment in the course, revolutionizing the way students are evaluated.
The Language Research Center organized a seminar on Effective Online Teaching, presented by Mohammad Siraj. The objective of the seminar was to develop a skilled workforce of online teachers. During his presentation, Mr. Siraj provided an overview of the online course he had designed for general English courses. He highlighted the accessibility of the course videos, which could be accessed from anywhere in the Kingdom. Additionally, he emphasized the importance of adhering to rubrics when designing an online course and demonstrated how his course aligned with the rubrics.
