On February 9th, faculty members Mohammed Jabir and Erich Beer from the Faculty of Languages & Translation shared their insights on creative writing at a workshop held at Al-Janoub International School in Khamis Mushait. The event was well-received, with numerous students, teachers, and administrators in attendance.

On January 29, 2019, the Faculty of Languages & Translation (clt) at King Khalid University held a dual event: a freshman orientation and a student awards ceremony. The event was expertly managed by Abdulaziz Dahlan, President of the English Club, under the supervision of Faisal Alfadhil, the Student Activities Director. The proceedings were overseen by Dr. Abdullah Al-Melhi, the Dean of clt.
Associate Professor Michael Hadzantonis spearheaded a workshop focusing on the Linguistic Anthropological aspects of language selection, organized by the Language Research Center of King Khalid University, on January 16, 2019. The language under study was Greek, using data collected during a study in Athens, Greece, in 2012.
Dr. Fouad Elkarnichi recently delivered an insightful presentation titled "Translator Education Practices in a University Context." This enlightening seminar, organized by the Language Research Center of King Khalid University, took place on January 23, 2019.

On January 21, 2019, the Dean of the Faculty of Languages and Translation, Dr. Abdullah Al-Melhi, bestowed distinguished service awards upon two dedicated faculty members in recognition of their hard work and commitment to the faculty.
Dr. Basim Kanaan was recognized for his commendable four-year tenure as the department's academic advisor. Throughout his term, Dr. Kanaan displayed unwavering dedication to his role, working persistently to guide students through a multitude of academic and personal issues, thus contributing significantly to their overall university experience.
On January 16, 2019, a practical and interactive 'E-Learning Practitioners Training' session took place, aimed at assisting faculty members to master Blackboard, one of the leading learning management systems in higher education. This session was spearheaded by the Deanship of E-Learning and led by Mohsin Khan, the E-Learning Supervisor at the Faculty of Languages and Translation.
In an effort to boost the effectiveness of language learning, the Faculty of Languages and Translation hosted training sessions to familiarize teachers with the newly introduced textbooks. These sessions took place on January 13th and 14th, led by the Cambridge University Press, the publishers of the Unlock series, and were coordinated by the Dean of the Faculty of Languages & Translation, Dr. Abdullah Al-Melhi.
