The Translator's Message is a noteworthy initiative launched by Master's degree students in Translation from the Faculty of Languages and Translation's female campus. As an entirely volunteer-driven group, they have committed to offering essential translation services to the wider community. Their motivation stems from a deep-rooted passion for translation, a desire to contribute positively to society, and the aim to refine their translation skills to fulfill career aspirations.

Master's students Saja Al Ahmari and Jawaher Al Enzi presented a fascinating talk on the relationship between translation and culture at a seminar hosted by the Language Research Center of King Khalid University on November 28, 2018. The event took place at the King Abdullah Road campus, where Al Ahmari and Al Enzi explored the significance of cultural awareness in effective translation.

On November 25, 2018, the English Club partnered with the Reading Club to host the Annual Spelling Bee Competition. The event was a showcase of linguistic prowess as more than 20 students from diverse educational levels, colleges, and nationalities participated. Both the organizers and participants devoted an immense amount of preparation time for the event, given the expansive vocabulary culled from a comprehensive fictional story provided beforehand.

On Tuesday the 6^th of November, students of the Faculty of Languages and Translation attended a seminar organized by the Intellectual Awareness Unit at the Faculty of Humanities. Dr. Lamya Al-Qadi delivered a seminar on the impact of globalization on social values and the role of educational institutions in safeguarding intellectual security. "There are advantages and disadvantages to using technology, especially social media. There are those on the internet who spread misleading or false information that can undermine our values and traditions.

On November 5^th, the Women's Scientific Research Committee of the Faculty of Languages and Translation organized an enriching two-hour workshop entitled "Reach Your Goal With IELTS", presented by lecturer Ms. Anjum Mishu.

On November 14, 2018, Associate Professor Michael Hadzantonis led a compelling workshop on 'Frame Theory and Footing in Linguistic Anthropological Analysis'. This event was expertly arranged by the Language Research Center of King Khalid University. Hadzantonis offered a detailed exploration of 'Footing and Framing Theory', a conceptual framework that allows for the contextual deconstruction and anthropological examination of discourse.

On November 12^th, there was a gathering of the English Club in the Language Enhancement Program (LEP) room at the main campus. The purpose of the meeting was to conduct another installment of the “Linguistics Hour”. The Linguistics Hour is a continuing project to identify issues in English language learning, discuss methods for improving English language education, and to identify practical applications for the usage of English in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

On the 7^th of November spectators who had braved the cold winter's night to attend the highly anticipated 2018 Football Final of the English Club, were treated to an extremely thrilling battle between two highly energized teams. After leading Juventus for most of the match, Manchester City ceded a goal in the last minute of this, truly exhilarating, encounter. Juventus thus narrowly managed to edge out City 6-5, to win the coveted winner's trophy. It was interesting to note that the majority of the spectators felt that a draw would have been a much fairer reflection of the game.

On November 7^th, Dr. Mazeegha Al-Tale' presented her research, titled "PECAL Model: Bringing the Best Together for Dynamic Gains," during a seminar organized by the Language Research Center.

The Women's English Club at the Faculty of Languages and Translation organized an engaging event on Sunday, October 28^th, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. The initiative, dubbed "Above the Sky," aimed to spotlight the integral role of women in relation to Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030.
