The Language Research Center hosted a lively presentation on, “Rethinking Main Objectives for Teach English.” The presenter, Dr. Abdelhamid Bessaid, led us through a series of critical strategies, viewpoints, and pedagogical theories. The primary aim of his seminar was to compare the particular linguistic practices into which learners are socialized outside their schools with the practice they encountered inside their institutions. He related that language is “par excellence” and that the paramount question under debate is what are the kinds of approaches to meet the new challenges?
In collaboration with the Deanship of Student Affairs, the English Club held a dynamic workshop aptly named "Elevating Your English Communication Skills". Under the supervision of Dr. Abdullah Al-Melhi, the Dean, the English Language Center (ELC) successfully conducted the midterms and final examinations for the First Semester 1435-36 online via the Blackboard platform.
The examinations for ENG 011, ENG 012, and ENG 015 were held in designated e-Learning Labs, specifically A/1/72, A/1/74, A/1/75, A/1/76, and A/2/83. Approximately 2,000 students participated in these online examinations.

The Language Research Center seminar by Erich Beer on November 17, 2014, kicked off with the following quote: “This presentation is ultimately about the students – not about me, or even you, for that matter.” Erich further quoted Margaret Elizabeth Sangster, who said: ‘No one should teach who is not in love with teaching.’ Building on this, he added: “If we are not in love with teaching, how can we expect our students to be in love with learning?”
On November 12, 2014, an orientation session was conducted for the new faculty members who joined the College during the current semester. This annual event, held at the beginning of each academic year, provides a comprehensive overview of the College and University divisions and offices, while also outlining the rights and responsibilities applicable to all faculty members.
