Nabeel Ali Sayed, a student pursuing an MA in the clt, recently presented his research on the genetic relationship between English and Arabic. The presentation, titled "Arabic is in English," was part of an empirically based Etymological study organized by the Language Research Center on October 17, 2016.

The primary objective of the study was to enhance the English language comprehension skills of Saudi EFL learners. Sayed addressed several issues related to Arab EFL learners, including their lack of interest and motivation in learning English. He emphasized that English is not a new language and can be acquired quickly by Arab EFL learners. Additionally, he highlighted that English native speakers can now find it easier to learn Arabic. Throughout his presentation, Sayed provided intriguing examples of words borrowed from Arabic, emphasizing the role of etymology in developing students' language skills.

It is worth noting that the seminar had a broad reach, with participation from two female campuses, Al Samer and King Abdullah Road, through video conferencing.
