Pioneer QM Master Reviewer

Mohsin Khan has earned the distinction of being the first Master Reviewer for Quality Matters at King Khalid University. Besides serving in this prestigious role, he also wears several other hats: he is a QM Online Facilitator, a Peer Reviewer, an E-learning Supervisor for the Faculty of Languages and Translation, and a dedicated workshop facilitator. Mr. Khan specializes in workshops that elucidate the methodology of Applying the QM Rubric, demonstrating a clear dedication to enhancing educational quality.

Translation of Death as Clad in Euphemisms

On October 31, 2016, Dr. Eyhab Bader Eddin gave an insightful presentation on the intricacies of translating euphemistic language. The seminar, titled "Translation of Death as Clad in Euphemisms," was organized by the Language Research Center of King Khalid University.

Dr. Eddin began by defining key linguistic concepts such as euphemism, orthophemism, and dyphemism. He further illuminated the motivations behind using euphemistic language and the specific realms that euphemisms typically address. He also explored the application of euphemism within the Arabic language.

Student Activities Reception

The English Club organized a vibrant reception on October 17, 2016, in the college foyer, aiming to promote awareness of the exciting activities planned for the semester. The event proved to be a great success, drawing the participation of more than 50 students who registered for the club and expressed their interest in upcoming events. Nabeel Ali Sayed, a student pursuing an MA in the clt, recently presented his research on the genetic relationship between English and Arabic. The presentation, titled "Arabic is in English," was part of an empirically based Etymological study organized by the Language Research Center on October 17, 2016.

International Testing Training Seminar at Abha Technical College

From October 9 to 12, 2016, three esteemed members of the Faculty of Languages and Translation—Dr. Salem bin Dawood, Mr. Matthew Paul, and Mr. Erich Beer—delivered a comprehensive International Testing Training Seminar, focusing on STEP, TOEFL, and IELTS, at Abha Technical College. E-Learning Awareness Campaign
