Graduate Student Receives Excellence Award at Translation Marathon
In the Spring 2018 semester, Ibrahim Mesfer Alhelali, a postgraduate student from the Faculty of Languages and Translation, represented his fellow students at a series of interactive workshops. These sessions, aimed at enhancing literacy skills, were part of the esteemed Riyadh International Book Fair.
Among the many events at the fair, Alhelali participated in the challenging "Translation Marathon," where he showcased his translation skills. The focus of his work was on critical narratives centering Saudi culture, capturing the attention of the distinguished panel of judges. A particularly notable translation of his pertained to the door of the Kaaba and its historical enhancements. This translation was presented in the presence of over 500 publishers hailing from 27 different countries, thereby lending his work a broad, international audience.
Reflecting on his experience, Alhelali said, "I am grateful to have had the opportunity to represent the Faculty of Languages and Translation and receive an excellence award for my work." His achievement not only exemplifies personal academic success but also underlines the high standard of instruction and the caliber of students at our Faculty.
