In a recent collaboration between the Deanship of Community Service and Continuing Education and the Faculty of Languages and Translation, an introductory-level short course was offered to primary, secondary, and high school teachers employed by the Ministry of Education. Spearheaded by Dr. Abdullah Al-Melhi, Dean of the Faculty of Languages and Translation, and Dr. Omar Alwan Aqeel, Dean of Community Service and Continuing Education, the course took place over four weeks.

Almost a hundred participants registered for the course, which offered a blend of active lesson types. The practical sessions involved a multitude of communicative formats and honed in on grammar and vocabulary. Techniques such as pair work, group work, and whole-class activities were utilized, engaging participants deeply in their learning.

Every week, the participants had the opportunity to put their acquired knowledge to the test in a specialized IELTS speaking exam workshop. These workshops allowed them to practice using collocations, complex grammar, and discourse markers.

The program was successfully delivered by Director of the English Language Center, Abdullah Ibrahim Al-Rezgi, lecturers Hashim Ali Asiri and Khalid Mater Asiri, and language instructor, Hassan Costello.
