The Faculty of Languages and Translation recently hosted its 13^th E-Learning Awareness Campaign for first-year students. Under the patronage of Dean Dr. Abdullah Al-Melhi and the supervision of the Vice Dean for Academic Development and Quality, Dr. Mohammed S. Assiri, the faculty's E-Learning Unit organized the campaign, which ran from September 16 to September 20, 2018.

ELC Director, Mr. Abdullah Al-Rezgi, joined the E-Learning Unit Team during the campaign, assisting in several e-learning labs and providing Arabic translation as necessary.

Hanan Al-Subaiai, an MA student at the Faculty of Languages and Translation (clt), delivered a presentation titled "Linguistic Hegemony of the English Language in the Medical Context of Bisha King Abdullah Hospital" at a seminar organized by the Language Research Center of King Khalid University. The seminar took place on September 12, 2018, at the King Abdullah Road Campus.

Under the supervision of Dr. Abdullah Al-Melhi, the Dean of the Faculty of Languages and Translation (clt), and organized by the English Club, first-year students gathered for the Academic Year 2018-2019 Freshman Orientation Day on Wednesday, September 12.

The Class of 2022 convened for the first time in room A/3/60, where they were warmly received by various administrators, teachers, and the president of the English Club.

In a recent collaboration between the Deanship of Community Service and Continuing Education and the Faculty of Languages and Translation, an introductory-level short course was offered to primary, secondary, and high school teachers employed by the Ministry of Education. Spearheaded by Dr. Abdullah Al-Melhi, Dean of the Faculty of Languages and Translation, and Dr. Omar Alwan Aqeel, Dean of Community Service and Continuing Education, the course took place over four weeks.

In an inaugural effort this year, prospective students applying to the Faculty of Languages and Translation (clt) were required to undergo an English language proficiency test. This examination, developed as a crucial post-admissions tool, was designed to gauge the English language competence and academic skills of the students.

In the Spring 2018 semester, Ibrahim Mesfer Alhelali, a postgraduate student from the Faculty of Languages and Translation, represented his fellow students at a series of interactive workshops. These sessions, aimed at enhancing literacy skills, were part of the esteemed Riyadh International Book Fair.

Dr. Mohammed Alward recently received an acknowledgment from the Dean of the Faculty of Languages and Translation, Dr. Abdullah Al-Melhi, for his innovative application of technology. Dr. Alward developed a grade calculation tool using Microsoft Excel that has greatly streamlined the process of producing grade distributions required for comprehensive course reports.

The 13^th Annual Research Day, an esteemed academic event, was conducted on April 4, 2018, under the stewardship of Dr. Abdullah Al-Melhi, the Dean, and Dr. Ismail Al-Refaai, the Director of the Language Research Center.

In a testament to the quality of this event, it secured third place in an evaluation conducted by the Deanship of Scientific Research at King Khalid University. This achievement stands as a testament to the committed efforts made by the organizing committee.

On April 25, 2018, the Department of English at the Faculty of Languages and Translation held a farewell ceremony in recognition of departing faculty members.
