Celebrating Achievements: Institutional Milestones and Academic Triumphs

At the start of the second semester of the 2024-2025 academic year, King Khalid University’s College of Languages and Translation initiated a strategic collaboration with the Saudi Arabian Translation Association, in line with Saudi Vision 2030. The partnership, formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding, aims to enhance academic research, cultural exchange, and professional training in translation studies. It seeks to address the increasing demand for quality translation services by establishing robust academic-industry ties, thereby providing practical experience for students and advancing the profession.

On March 22, 2022, Dr. Abdullah Al-Melhi, Dean of the College of Languages and Translation (CLT), and Dr. Eisa Asiri, Director of the Translation Unit, had a discussion with Al Ekhbariya, a Riyadh-based Arabic news and current affairs satellite TV channel.

On October 25, 2022, the College of Languages and Translation's Alumni Unit held a webinar on a groundbreaking virtual internship-based learning project. The initiative aims to infuse employability into all undergraduate and graduate programs, equipping students with job market skills that align with their academic learning outcomes.

In alignment with the Saudi Ministry of Culture's initiative to celebrate 2023 as the Year of Arabic Poetry, the esteemed "Poetry Translator" competition took place virtually, coordinated by Princess Noura bint Abdulrahman University (PNU). Teams from across the nation gathered online, ready to demonstrate their linguistic prowess in the English language track.

On October 9th, 2023, King Khalid University's Department of Translation, led by Dr. Eisa Asiri and significantly supported by the Translation Unit, concluded its groundbreaking Tourism Translator Competition with remarkable success. The event was honored by the presence of His Excellency Prof. Faleh Al-Solami, the University President, and served as an innovative initiative that aligns with the tourism goals outlined in Saudi Vision 2030.
