Advancing Translation Studies: College of Languages and Translation and Saudi Arabian Translation Association Launch Enduring Collaboration Beginning in the Second Semester of 2024-2025

At the beginning of the second semester of the 2024-2025 academic year, the College of Languages and Translation at King Khalid University took a significant step toward fostering academic collaboration and advancing translation studies. As part of its mission to enhance research, cultural exchange, and professional training, the College sought strategic partnerships that align with Saudi Vision 2030’s goals for knowledge development and localization.

Despite a growing demand for high-quality translation services in Saudi Arabia, there was a need to establish stronger academic-industry collaborations that would support students, professionals, and researchers in the field. The College aimed to bridge this gap by forming meaningful partnerships with leading translation institutions.

In a landmark initiative, the College of Languages and Translation signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Saudi Arabian Translation Association. This agreement was designed to strengthen translation and publishing initiatives, organize cultural and academic events, launch specialized training programs, and facilitate access to research databases.

This collaboration has paved the way for new opportunities in translation studies, providing students with hands-on experience, fostering academic research, and enhancing the role of translation in bridging linguistic and cultural gaps. Through this partnership, the College of Languages and Translation continues to contribute to the advancement of translation as a profession, supporting the nation’s broader educational and professional development goals.
