On November 12^th, there was a gathering of the English Club in the Language Enhancement Program (LEP) room at the main campus. The purpose of the meeting was to conduct another installment of the “Linguistics Hour”. The Linguistics Hour is a continuing project to identify issues in English language learning, discuss methods for improving English language education, and to identify practical applications for the usage of English in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

On the 7^th of November spectators who had braved the cold winter's night to attend the highly anticipated 2018 Football Final of the English Club, were treated to an extremely thrilling battle between two highly energized teams. After leading Juventus for most of the match, Manchester City ceded a goal in the last minute of this, truly exhilarating, encounter. Juventus thus narrowly managed to edge out City 6-5, to win the coveted winner's trophy. It was interesting to note that the majority of the spectators felt that a draw would have been a much fairer reflection of the game.

On November 7^th, Dr. Mazeegha Al-Tale' presented her research, titled "PECAL Model: Bringing the Best Together for Dynamic Gains," during a seminar organized by the Language Research Center.

The Women's English Club at the Faculty of Languages and Translation organized an engaging event on Sunday, October 28^th, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. The initiative, dubbed "Above the Sky," aimed to spotlight the integral role of women in relation to Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030.

On Sunday, October 28, 2018, the Women’s English Club at the Faculty of Languages and Translation orchestrated a visit to Gold's Gym for an awareness campaign concerning breast cancer. Members of the English Club crafted special blouses and gifts designed to elevate consciousness regarding breast cancer and additional women’s health issues.

On October 29^th, the Women’s Scientific Research Committee at the Faculty of Languages and Translation held a seminar titled "What Does It Mean to Have Programmatic Accreditation". The session was helmed by Dr. Eman Alzaanin, the supervisor of the Academic Development and Quality Unit. The session focused on analyzing the university’s strengths and areas for improvement in relation to the accreditation process in the Faculty of Languages and Translation.

On October 31, 2018, Prof. Hamad Al-Dosari delivered an insightful presentation at a seminar hosted by the Language Research Center. Titled "Developing and Assessing the Relationship between Intercultural Communication Competence and Intercultural Sensitivity in the EFL Classroom," his presentation unveiled research that he plans to present at the 24th Annual International Conference of the Bolivian English Teachers Association.

The students of the Faculty of Languages and Translation attended a seminar organized by the Intellectual Awareness Unit on Tuesday, October 30^th in the Science College Theatre. The presentation was about the significance of the feeling of appreciation and belongingness to one’s home country. Dr. Aisha Abu Sab’a, assistant professor at the Faculty of Islamic Legislation, started her presentation with a review of a map of the prophets’ journeys. She referred to the journey of Prophet Ibrahim (peace be upon him) away from his home country.

An enticing aroma of spices wafting from the grill marked the backdrop for the Faculty of Languages and Translation’s semi-annual social gathering during the 1439-1440 academic year. An assembly of nearly 50 faculty members and administrative staff came together to interact in an informal ambiance, leading to engaging dialogues about academic pursuits, research undertakings, career trajectories, and broader personal interests as the evening unfolded.

On Wednesday, October 24, 2018, the Faculty of Languages & Translation convened a meeting with newly appointed faculty members. The meeting took place in Room A/3/60, initiating at 12:00 pm.
