The Scientific Research Committee at the Faculty of Languages and Translation hosted a captivating seminar on interdisciplinary research on February 6, 2019. Presented by Dr. Barbara Rumbinas, an associate professor specializing in English Language, American Literature, History, and Culture, the seminar was aptly titled 'Mining for Gold in Interdisciplinary Research: A Whole Greater Than the Sum of Its Parts.'

The Women's English Club of the Faculty of Languages and Translation, in collaboration with the Deanship of Student Affairs, organized a workshop titled 'Time Management Is the Key to Success' on February 11^th. The workshop was skillfully prepared and delivered by Mrs. Maram Almalki.

On February 19^th, the English Club organized a student-centric workshop featuring guest speaker Mohammed Al Fuad, who shared insights on the topic 'Becoming an Exceptional Student'. At the very beginning, Al Fuad acknowledged the privilege of studying at King Khalid University, spurring students to seize this opportunity and pursue their dreams relentlessly.

On Wednesday, January 30^th, the Women's English Club of the Faculty of Languages and Translation, in association with the Deanship of Student Affairs, orchestrated a program titled 'Winter Picnic'. Held in the indoor hall of building C from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., the event offered attendees a blend of educational discussion and leisure activities.

On February 13, 2019, a seminar was held by the Language Research Center of King Khalid University, where Dr. Hasan Jaashan introduced his latest work on Stylistics. Commencing his presentation, Dr. Jaashan guided the audience through the content of his book.

On February 12^th, the English Club convened once again for the 'Linguistics Hour' in the Language Enhancement Program (LEP) room at the main campus. This ongoing initiative aims to identify challenges in English language learning, discuss innovative methods to enhance English language education, and explore practical applications of English in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

On February 9^th, faculty members Mohammed Jabir and Erich Beer from the Faculty of Languages & Translation shared their insights on creative writing at a workshop held at Al-Janoub International School in Khamis Mushait. The event was well-received, with numerous students, teachers, and administrators in attendance.

On February 5^th, the English Club convened in the Language Enhancement Program (LEP) room on the main campus for another engaging 'Linguistics Hour' session. This ongoing series seeks to identify challenges in English language learning, explore innovative methods for enhancing English language education, and pinpoint practical applications of English within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

On January 29, 2019, the Faculty of Languages & Translation (clt) at King Khalid University held a dual event: a freshman orientation and a student awards ceremony. The event was expertly managed by Abdulaziz Dahlan, President of the English Club, under the supervision of Faisal Alfadhil, the Student Activities Director. The proceedings were overseen by Dr. Abdullah Al-Melhi, the Dean of clt.

Associate Professor Michael Hadzantonis spearheaded a workshop focusing on the Linguistic Anthropological aspects of language selection, organized by the Language Research Center of King Khalid University, on January 16, 2019. The language under study was Greek, using data collected during a study in Athens, Greece, in 2012.
