First-year MA Translation student, Abeer Al-Asmari, recently presented a compelling webinar titled "Literary Translation: A Cynosure of Hopeful Translators, Yet Too Hard to Master." The online seminar was part of the Language Research Center (LRC)'s regular biweekly events and took place on September 30, 2020.

On September 21, 2020, Mohsin Khan, the E-Learning Unit Supervisor, conducted a webinar under the title "Using Bb Random Block for Online Midterm Exam/Quizzes". The webinar, overseen by the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, Dr. Yahya Asiri, was designed to equip faculty members with effective tools to minimize academic misconduct during online exams and quizzes, hence establishing a robust system to ensure the authenticity of students' work and assignments.

On September 16, 2020, Ms. Amatul Hafeez Alvi led a workshop on the theme of "Virtual Teaching of English Courses: Ways to Make it Effective". This event, in the format of a webinar, was organized by the Language Research Center at the Faculty of Languages and Translation.

On September 3, 2020, an orientation program was conducted for first-year students joining the Bachelor of Arts in English program at the Faculty of Languages and Translation. Adhering to COVID-19 social distancing protocols, the gathering was structured to provide essential information in a small group discussion format. Numerous members from the faculty's leadership team and functional units graced the occasion to acquaint the newcomers with the curriculum, as well as the culture fostered on campus.

As part of King Khalid University's ongoing awareness campaigns to stem the tide of COVID-19 and under the supervision of Dean Abdullah Al-Melhi, the Faculty of Languages ​​and Translation's Vice Dean for Academic Development and Quality, Dr. Abdulrahman Almosa, facilitated the translation of COVID-19 awareness videos in 6 different languages ​​in cooperation with the Ministry of Health (MOH) and the Command and Control Center at Asir’s General Directorate of Health Affairs led by Asir Gov.

On March 10, 2020, we informed about a university-wide webinar conducted by E-Learning Unit Supervisor, Mohsin Khan, titled 'Transformation to Full E-Learning.' This webinar also included a specially tailored session for the English Language Center on March 11, 2020. The purpose was to familiarize faculty members with useful content and tools within Blackboard, essential for conducting effective online classes. On March 10, 2020, a university-wide workshop, titled 'Transformation to Full E-Learning,' was conducted by the E-Learning Unit Supervisor, Mohsin Khan. The Deanship of E-Learning's Training Manager, Mohammed Jarallah, supervised the workshop. Aimed to equip faculty members, both seasoned and novice users, with key knowledge on creating and posting documents, assignments, quizzes, tests, videos, and engaging in discussion boards, the workshop was a grand success, with nearly 200 attendees.

The Women's Academic Development and Quality Committee, committed to enhancing the quality of teaching, organized a workshop on "Usefulness and Learnability in Teaching Vocabulary to ESL/EFL Students" on Monday, February 24, 2020. Conducted by Ms. Shanjida Halim, Ms. Tanzina Halim, and Dr. Rizwana Wahid, this workshop was specifically designed for new educators, graduate students, and faculty members of the Bachelor of Arts in English program who have yet to teach courses such as ENG 214 Vocabulary Building 1 and ENG 219 Vocabulary Building 2.
