The Deanship of Community Service and Continuing Education has once again partnered with the Faculty of Languages and Translation (clt) to offer the second annual four-week intensive English language course. The course, specifically tailored for teachers from the Ministry of Education (MOE), seeks to bolster their language proficiency.

In partnership with Al Khaleej Training and Education, the clt delivered English instruction to close to 90 public school teachers at the primary, secondary, and high school levels. The course was designed as an English refresher, catering to both novice learners and those planning to sit for the IELTS examination in the near future.

The initiative was made possible through the sponsorship of the Vice Presidency of Academic Affairs, the Dean of the Faculty of Languages and Translation, Dr. Abdullah Al-Melhi, and the Dean of Community Service and Continuing Education, Dr. Omar Alwan Aqeel. Operational oversight was provided by the ELC Director, Fahad Al-Shehri, under the guidance of Vice Dean of Academic Affairs, Dr. Yahya Asiri.

Prospective participants underwent an entrance examination, informed by the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). Based on the results, nearly 90 students were enrolled in one of four groups, each representing a different level of English proficiency.

The Vice Rector of Academic Development and Quality, Dr. Merzin Al-Shahrani, graced the opening ceremony. Congratulating the attendees, he expressed his appreciation to the faculty and staff facilitating the program. He assured the participants of the continued improvement and expansion of the program in the coming years.

Among the representatives from the Faculty of Languages and Translation were Hassan Costello and Dr. Michael Hadzantonis, with Bryan Bell and Rocio Munoz representing Al Khaleej Training and Education.

Recognizing the significance of this initiative, the Deanship of Community Service and Continuing Education is dedicated to its future success. Dean Aqeel emphasized that education should be a lifelong pursuit, even for teachers.
