Vision

To be a leader in providing innovative and effective E-Learning solutions that enable both faculty members and students to fulfill their educational needs and aspirations.

Mission

Our mission is to facilitate the adoption and integration of E-Learning tools and technologies into the academic programs of the College of Languages and Translation, with the aim of improving teaching effectiveness, student learning outcomes, and course satisfaction. We are committed to providing high-quality E-Learning support services and training to both students and faculty members.

Objectives

  • Ensure the availability of comprehensive E-Learning support services and training to students and faculty members, including technical assistance, software and hardware support, and training on E-Learning best practices.
  • Enable faculty members and students to develop, share, and reuse learning resources, such as online course materials, multimedia resources, and assessment tools.
  • Optimize the use of the Blackboard Learning Management System to enhance course development and improve student retention of instructional materials, by providing training and support on instructional design principles, multimedia production, and content management systems.
  • Implement international quality standards (such as Quality Matters) for online courses to ensure that they meet or exceed recognized benchmarks for quality and effectiveness.

Activities

  1. Develop and maintain the Blackboard Learning Management System and related tools and resources that enable faculty members and students to easily access and use E-Learning materials and services.
  2. Provide ongoing training and support to faculty members and students on the effective use of the Blackboard Learning Management System and other E-Learning tools and technologies, including best practices for online course design and delivery.
  3. Collaborate with other units and departments within the college to integrate the Blackboard Learning Management System and other E-Learning tools and technologies into the curriculum and academic programs, and to develop innovative approaches to teaching and learning.
  4. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of E-Learning initiatives and programs through data analytics and feedback mechanisms, and continuously improve the quality and relevance of E-Learning offerings.

By implementing these objectives and activities, the E-Learning Unit aims to create a dynamic and interactive learning environment that engages and motivates students, supports faculty members in their teaching efforts, and enhances the overall quality and effectiveness of academic programs in the College of Languages and Translation.
