Under the leadership of Dr. Abdullah Al-Melhi, Dean, the E-Learning Unit of the Faculty of Languages and Translation orchestrated an enriching "E-Learning Awareness Campaign." The campaign, targeting Level 1 department and English Language Centre (ELC) students, ran from Sunday, February 26, 2017, to Thursday, March 2, 2017.

Dr. Mohammed S. Assiri, Vice Dean for Academic Development & Quality, lauded the efforts of the E-Learning Unit in organizing the campaign, reiterating that such initiatives substantially contribute to students' pursuit of academic excellence.

The E-Learning Unit Supervisor, Mr. Mohsin Raza Khan, articulated that the campaign aimed to enlighten new students on the indispensability and practical application of the King Khalid University's E-Learning management system, Blackboard. "Among the multiple objectives of this campaign were the alleviation of anxiety, increasing awareness of self-monitoring needs, and fostering student collaboration," Mr. Khan said. Additionally, Dr. Mohammed Asif Ishfaq, Campaign Coordinator, underscored the enthusiasm of the students who actively engaged in the campaign, which was designed to encourage effective use of Blackboard.

Throughout the campaign, the E-Learning Unit spearheaded various activities such as:

  • Delivering individualized Blackboard training to students in their classrooms,
  • Conducting workshops in the e-learning labs,
  • Arranging an e-quiz competition, and
  • Establishing an e-learning booth to distribute brochures and booklets.

The campaign's success was made possible through the concerted efforts of several dedicated individuals, including Mr. Abdullah Al Rezgi, Director of the English Language Centre, Dr. Munassir Alhamami, Chairman of the English Department, Mr. Abdullah Al-Zubain, E-Learning Specialist, Dr. Khaled Mohanna, E-Learning Team Manager, and all Level 1 teachers.

The Faculty of Languages and Translation extends its profound appreciation to the following individuals for their pivotal contributions and involvement:

  • Dr. Mohamed Asif Ishfaq, Coordinator of the Campaign,
  • Mr. Matthew Paul, Level 1 Instructor,
  • Mr. Jawed Ahmed, ELC General Coordinator,
  • Mr. Mazaharul Islam, ELC Lecturer.


To culminate the event, a felicitation ceremony will be held on Tuesday, March 7, 2017, to honor the winners of the e-Quiz competition.
