On January 29, 2025, the Alumni Unit of the College of Languages & Translation (CLT) organized an insightful workshop entitled “From Theory to Practice: Strategies for Solving the Jahiziyah Applied Linguistics Exam” designed for Level 7 and 8 students. The workshop was held on Wednesday at 12:00 pm in Room 65 on the ground floor of the CLT.

Dr. Amal Metwally delivered a presentation titled “Exploring Practical Applications of Sketch Engine in Corpus-Based Translation Research” during a webinar organized by the Scientific Research, Innovation, and Graduate Studies Unit of the College of Languages and Translation at King Khalid University on January 29, 2025. Her presentation focused on her investigation into the efficacy of Sketch Engine as a tool for corpus-based translation research.

في إطار سعي نادي كلية اللغات والترجمة المستمر لتعزيز المهارات الإبداعية لدى الطالبات، تم تنظيم برنامج بعنوان "إبداعات لغوية" بالتعاون مع عمادة شؤون الطلاب لشؤون الطالبات، وذلك يوم الخميس الموافق 30 يناير 2025م. أُقيم البرنامج في مسرح الكلية من الساعة التاسعة صباحًا وحتى الساعة الحادية عشرة صباحًا، بحضور عدد كبير من الطالبات المهتمات بتطوير مهاراتهن في مجالي الكتابة والخطابة. وتضمن البرنامج منافسة في فن الخطابة، بالإضافة إلى تحكيم المقالات المقدمة، حيث تم تكريم الفائزات وتقديم جوائز قيمة تشجيعًا لهن على الاستمرار في تطوير مهاراتهن الإبداعية.
 

في خطوة هامة نحو تعزيز الوعي البيئي، نظم نادي كلية اللغات والترجمة، بالتعاون مع عمادة شؤون الطلاب لشؤون الطالبات، مبادرة توعوية تضامنا مع مبادرة "السعودية الخضراء " بعنوان "بيئة صحية لغد مشرق"، أُقيمت الفعالية يوم الخميس الموافق 23 /1/ 2025، في تمام الساعة التاسعة صباحًا، أمام المكتبة المركزية، وسط حضور كثيف من الطالبات وتضمنت عدة أركان توعوية للحفاظ على البيئة.

On December 18, 2024, in Abha, during a ceremony marking World Arabic Language Day, King Khalid University lauded the Translation Department of the College of Languages and Translation for its significant contributions to cultural and academic exchange. During the event, the department was recognized for translating five scholarly works on camels—originally authored by Fawzan bin Hamad Al-Madhi—including titles such as “The Types of Camels and Their Characteristics” and “Behavior and Breeding Patterns of Camels”—from Arabic into English.

The Scientific Research, Innovation, and Graduate Studies Unit of the College of Languages and Translation at King Khalid University organized a webinar featuring Dr. Ali H. Al-Hoorie on December 4, 2024. During the event, he discussed the topic "Language Learning Metamotivation."
