On December 21, 2022, King Khalid University's Faculty of Languages and Translation hosted a webinar featuring Dr. Shadma Iffat Rahmatullah. Dr. Amal Metwally's session, entitled "Publication Process & Validated Measures of Scientific Publication Quality," reflected the faculty's implicit strategy of enhancing publication quality through collaborative academic endeavors.

On October 31, 2022, the Guidance and Counseling Unit (GCU) of King Khalid University held a workshop in collaboration with the Saudi Human Resources Development Fund (Hadaf). The event also included an appreciation ceremony to recognize high-achieving students, dedicated faculty members, and supportive staff. Dean Dr. Abdullah Al-Melhi, Chairman Dr. Ibrahim Alasmari, and GCU Head Dr. Dawood Mahdi led the proceedings.

On October 25, 2022, the Faculty of Languages and Translation's Alumni Unit held a webinar on a groundbreaking virtual internship-based learning project. The Faculty of Languages and Translation, King Khalid University, had a great loss this year when one of its teaching staff passed away, leaving behind a vacuum among us.

Dr. Adel Bahameed was an Associate Professor of Translation at the Department of English, Faculty of Languages and Translation, King Khalid University, Saudi Arabia, from 2018 to 2022. He previously worked for Hadhramout University, Yemen, for twelve years. His areas of interest included Cross-Cultural Translation, Assessment of Translation, Interpreting, and Technicalities of Translation.

On May 17, 2022, the Translation Unit extended an invitation to Mr. Ahmad Assiri, a Ph.D. candidate in Translation Studies at Macquarie University, to spearhead a translation webinar open to all students at King Khalid University. The seminar, aptly titled "Translation in a Clear & Correct Arabic Language," underscored crucial facets of the Arabic language that translators and interpreters must take into account. These elements included stylistic, grammatical, and orthographic aspects critical for creating clear and accurate Arabic translations from English texts.

The English Department recently orchestrated an enthralling Public Speaking Competition that truly showcased the exceptional talents of its participants. With an enthusiastic audience exceeding 100 attendees, the event was a testament to the high standard of eloquence and oratory skills honed by the competitors.

On March 22, 2022, Dr. Abdullah Al-Melhi, Dean of the Faculty of Languages and Translation (clt), and Dr. Eisa Asiri, Director of the Translation Unit, had a discussion with Al Ekhbariya, a Riyadh-based Arabic news and current affairs satellite TV channel.

On Monday, March 28, 2022, the Faculty of Languages and Translation at King Khalid University celebrated a significant milestone for its Bachelor of Arts in English Program. For the first time, the program has been awarded full accreditation by the National Center for Academic Accreditation and Evaluation (NCAAA), a part of the Education and Training Evaluation Commission, for a five-year term starting in the first quarter of 2022.
