Faculty and students at the Faculty of Languages and Translation recently had the opportunity to engage in lively conversations about innovative approaches to their work. The faculty organized a symposium titled "Present and Future of English in Saudi Arabia: Research Concerns," which served as a platform for exploration and discussion.
The Faculty of Languages & Translation continues to prioritize the professional development of its staff members through regular presentations. On Wednesday, October 15, 2014, an engaging session took place, covering diverse and informative topics. The event was chaired by Dr. Ahmad Ismail Assiri, the Vice Dean of the faculty, who introduced teaching assistants (TAs) to the staff members and moderated the session.
The Faculty of Languages & Translation once again demonstrated their efficiency and dedication in celebrating the joyous occasion of 'Saudi National Day.' The success of the event was the result of the continuous efforts of Mr. Ali Alamri, Director of Student Activities, and the students involved in organizing the students' activities.
On September 16, 2014, the Faculty of Languages and Translation organized a comprehensive Student Orientation Program to welcome and guide new students as they embarked on their academic journey. The event was made possible through the diligent efforts of Mr. Ali Alamri, Director of Student Activities, and his dedicated team, who worked tirelessly to ensure its success. The esteemed presence of Dr. Abdullah Al-Melhi, the Dean of the faculty, as the chief guest added a special significance to the program.
With the patronage of Dr. Abdullah Al-Melhi, Dean of the college, the E-Learning Unit organized a highly anticipated "E-Learning Orientation Week" for new students from Sunday, September 7, 2014, to Thursday, September 11, 2014.
On the 25th of May 2014, the Faculty of Languages and Translation organized a memorable Reception and Farewell Party to recognize and honor both the new and departing staff members. The event was a testament to the college's commitment to fostering a sense of community and appreciation among its faculty.
The Faculty of Languages and Translation proudly organized Graduation Day 2014, a momentous event commemorating the achievements of the graduates from the M.A. and B.A. programs. The occasion was graced by the presence of esteemed guests, with the Dean of the college, Dr. Abdullah Al-Melhi, serving as the chief guest, accompanied by the highly respected senior professor, Dr. Farhatullah Khan.
The 4th Spelling Bee Competition of the second semester of the academic year proved to be an exciting and enduring battle for the fifteen spellers from the Department of English. On 21st April 2014, after 19 intriguing rounds, the competition finally reached its conclusion.
