On November 18, 2019, Mohsin Khan, the E-Learning Unit Supervisor, conducted a workshop titled 'E-Reading'. This event was a collaborative effort between the E-Learning Unit of the Bachelor of Arts in English program and the English Club at the Faculty of Languages and Translation. The workshop was designed for English language majors and aimed to enhance students' comprehension of 'E-Reading' by utilizing a myriad of free online resources.

Mr. Khan centered the workshop around reading strategy. Utilizing iPad-based interactive exercises, he walked participants through various e-worksheets that aimed to bolster knowledge of reading strategies. With more than 20 students participating, ranging from incoming freshmen to juniors, the workshop provided a collaborative platform to reinforce their understanding of the concepts presented.

Reading, undeniably, is an integral aspect of English language learning. It not only expands students' vocabulary and fortifies their understanding of grammar but also expedites the language-learning process by converting passive comprehension into active knowledge. Additionally, numerous studies underscore that reading bolsters cognitive abilities, further asserting its value as a critical language skill.

Speaking on the benefits of E-Reading, Mr. Khan stated, "E-Reading has the potential to transform receptive lessons into interactive ones. With the help of interactive tasks, built-in dictionaries, and audio features, students can develop their critical reading skills more effectively." The workshop emphasized the significance of reading in English language mastery and underscored the benefits of adopting E-Reading strategies in the digital age.
