Guided by Dr. Abdullah Al-Melhi, Dean, and represented by Dr. Abdulkhaleq Al Qahtani, Vice Dean of Higher Studies, the English Club held an informative orientation for all Level 1 students on March 5, 2017. The session was co-presented by Dr. Abdulkhaleq Al Qahtani, Dr. Mohammed Assiri, Vice Dean of Academic Development and Quality, Dr. Munassir Alhamami, Chair of the English Department, Dr. Basim Kanaan, Academic Advisor, and Hassan Asiri, Director of Student Activities.

Throughout the orientation, the presenters underscored the vital elements contributing to academic success, ranging from the usage of resources, adherence to policies, to strategic academic planning. Dr. Al-Qahtani underlined the primary aim of the orientation: to engage new students, introduce them to campus resources, and unlock opportunities for them. He stressed that a smooth transition for students from their previous environment into the Faculty of Languages and Translation (clt) is a top priority.

This year's orientation leaders were eager to share their experiences and insights. Hassan Asiri, Director of Student Activities, emphasized the orientation's role as a critical stepping stone for students entering the clt community at King Khalid University.

Haitham Hawi, President of the English Club, appreciated the chance to meet the new students. "For many of them, this orientation was an excellent opportunity to pose questions and clear doubts," he said.

Ahmed Al Otaibi, Vice President of the English Club, reflected on his personal experience with the orientation program when he first started. "I appreciated the guidance I received, and now I enjoy providing assistance where it is needed," he said. "I also wanted to introduce new students to the English Club to encourage their active participation."

In conclusion, Dr. Abdulkhaleq Al-Qahtani highlighted the importance of orientation as a key component in ensuring student success. He reiterated that the faculty's primary goal is to support and enhance the student experience both inside and outside the classroom.
