Last week, the department celebrated the graduation of the Spring 2018 class with heartfelt gratitude to the English Club for sponsoring this significant event. The ceremony was punctuated by a diverse range of speakers and engaging activities.

The evening's host, graduating senior Ahmed Eid, ensured a seamless celebration with his gracious facilitation. Commencing the event, graduating senior Sohail Al-Madkli recited an inspiring rendition of Sūrat Ibrāhīm, marking the blessed nature of the occasion. Dr. Abdullah Al-Melhi, our esteemed Dean, followed with a moving graduation address. He emphasized the critical role of education in shaping future generations and urged our graduates to carry forward this noble legacy.

Ali Saeed Daif Allah, the President of the English Club, took the stage next to express gratitude to the Dean and staff in his graduation speech delivered in Arabic. He acknowledged the students' commitment and resilience in completing this challenging academic journey. Graduating senior Abdullah Al-Klthmi then presented his reflections in English, prompting students and faculty to reminisce about their shared experiences and the obstacles surmounted. With a forward-looking perspective, Abdullah reminded his peers that they are embarking on a new chapter filled with both opportunities and challenges, urging them to seize those opportunities and bravely face any forthcoming hurdles.

Adding a touch of artistry to the event, graduating senior Abdulaziz Al-Shahrani, a renowned poet, delivered an inspiring spoken word performance. He expressed his gratitude to the department's faculty members for their unwavering support in helping students achieve success.

The event was wrapped up with a traditional dinner and social gathering, further consolidating the bonds within our academic family. The Faculty of Languages and Translation is immensely proud of our graduates and privileged to have contributed to their educational and personal development. Our faculty and staff are eagerly awaiting news of the myriad successes we are confident our recent graduates will achieve. We have no doubt that these young men's skills, abilities, and drive will significantly benefit the Kingdom.
