On Saturday, October 12, 2019, Vice Dean of Academic Development and Quality, Dr. Abdulrahman Almosa, spearheaded a training workshop on Self-Evaluation Scales (SES) and Self-Study Report (SSR). Co-sponsored by the Deanship of Academic Development and Quality, the event was well-attended by various members of the accreditation committee and associated sub-committees. It is noteworthy that both male and female team members actively participated in this crucial event held at the main campus.

Dr. Hasan Jaashan, the Head of the Academic Development and Quality Unit, initiated the session by providing an insightful presentation on the objectives and necessities of the SES report. He shared his expertise with the aim of addressing queries and guiding the teams to avoid frequent pitfalls that may arise during an initial submission for accreditation. Dr. Jaashan engaged with the audience through a series of hypothetical situations which may emerge during the SES preparation. Further enhancing this interactive session, Program Coordinator Dr. Fadi Al-Khasawneh lent his support during the Q&A session, ensuring a collective understanding of the accreditation processes.

Quality Consultant at the Deanship of Academic Development and Quality, Dr. Ahmad Farid, expanded upon the fundamental aspects of the SES report earlier touched upon by Dr. Jaashan. Utilizing visual aids and handouts, he meticulously walked the attendees through the intricate nuances of the SSR requirements. Dr. Farid emphasized the rigorous evidentiary standards as per the accreditation approval criteria of the National Commission for Academic Accreditation & Assessment (NCAAA). He explained that a successful NCAAA accreditation application requires a comprehensive and extensive portfolio of documents and related records, supporting the claims made in the report. Although website links are helpful, they alone do not suffice as per NCAAA regulations. He stressed that a broad and deep body of evidence, comprising material from diverse academic and administrative sources, is necessary for a credible application package.

The clt extends its gratitude to the Deanship of Academic Development and Quality for co-sponsoring the event and appreciates Dr. Ahmad Farid's comprehensive workshop. "I would like to extend my thanks to everyone who took time out of their weekend to participate in this significant event. With your continued hard work, we are confident that we will soon achieve our accreditation goals. We all look forward to the forthcoming celebration to mark this momentous accreditation confirmation," said Dr. Almosa.

The Faculty of Languages and Translation (clt) remains committed to upholding excellence across all dimensions of its educational offerings. It is a shared belief that the clt, its programs, students, and alumni warrant national recognition.
