Bachelor of Arts in English Program at the Faculty of Languages and Translation Pursues NCAAA Accreditation
The Faculty of Languages and Translation (clt) at King Khalid University has recently embarked on a significant accreditation process. On May 2, 2019, Dr. Ahmad Farid, a Quality Consultant at the Deanship of Academic Development and Quality, conducted a workshop focusing on securing the NCAAA accreditation for the Bachelor of Arts in English program. The comprehensive process kick-started with an extensive self-evaluation, now successfully completed by the clt.
This preliminary self-evaluation required an exhaustive analysis of all fundamental academic functions of the English program. In response to this requirement, the clt consolidated 11 faculty teams, bringing together nearly 30 dedicated faculty members. Each team was assigned a mission-critical department function, with the goal of assessing and measuring current performance against both quantitative and qualitative standards. Despite a demanding schedule and strict evaluative parameters, every team delivered high-quality results in a timely manner.
Vice Dean of Academic Development and Quality, Dr. Abdulrahman Almosa, praised the clt's progress and the meticulous efforts of the teams. He highlighted the importance of the program meeting the appropriate quality assurance standards, in compliance with its institutional charter or license, as a key criterion before the NCAAA begins its critical analysis.
Dr. Fadi Al-Khasawneh, Program Coordinator at the clt, reiterated the necessity of a fair, balanced, and objective internal evaluation before the NCAAA's independent review. The analysis scrutinized 11 separate areas of operations, each subject to the review by an authorized NCAAA review panel.
Upon the successful accreditation of the Bachelor of Arts in English program, clt has plans to pursue a similar accreditation process for all graduate programs. The goal is to achieve nationwide recognition for the quality of clt's programs, ensuring continued excellence in educational offerings and validating the hard work and commitment of students, faculty, and alumni.
