Brewing for Success: clt Alumni Entrepreneur Brings Popular Brand to Asir

In a compelling display of entrepreneurial drive and initiative, Mubarak Saeed Al-Qahtani, a 2021 graduate from the Faculty of Languages and Translation's Bachelor of Arts in English program, has turned his long-held dream into reality. Al-Qahtani has successfully launched several drive-through coffee shops, bringing a unique Al-Qassim flair to the Asir region.

"College and coffee are a perfect combination, and Kyan Cafe embodies this connection," Al-Qahtani enthusiastically shares. His inspiration sparked while observing the prevalence of Kyan Cafe logo-laden air fresheners in the King Khalid University parking lot. Intrigued, Al-Qahtani diligently researched the brand and sought advice from his English program instructors about the prospects of venturing into entrepreneurship.

Spurred by their encouragement, he swiftly moved to establish his business idea centered around three fundamental principles: quality, speed, and convenience. Al-Qahtani attributes a significant part of his operational success to the language skills acquired in his English studies, enhancing his ability to discern when, to whom, what, and how to effectively communicate.

He states, "The knowledge I gained from my degree in English has been instrumental in using Foodics, our point-of-sale system. My ambition is to introduce innovative concepts in collaboration with global companies and eventually become a franchisor." Al-Qahtani is also passionate about encouraging fellow program graduates to engage with Saudi Arabia's startup accelerators to pitch their ideas and secure funding.

The Bachelor of Arts in English program at the Faculty of Languages and Translation is deeply committed to nurturing entrepreneurial leaders. The program harnesses the transformative power of language competence to adapt to the evolving economic landscape of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, incorporating creativity and innovation into the learning experience.
