Creating Richer, More Robust, Student-Centered Course Learning Outcomes

On Saturday, February 8, 2020, the Vice Dean of Academic Development and Quality, Dr. Abdulrahman Almosa, sponsored a training seminar for the Bachelor of Arts in English program, titled 'Creating and Assessing Learning Outcomes'. Co-sponsored by the Deanship of Academic Development and Quality, the event gathered approximately 50 course coordinators from various campuses, with representation from both male and female faculty members. The Saudi German Hospital graciously hosted this important event.

On February 3, 2020, the Women's Scientific Research Committee of the Bachelor of Arts in English program hosted a seminar titled "Publishing in Peer-Reviewed Journals: Challenges and Solutions". Led by Dr. Mazeegha Al-Tale', the session aimed to underscore the importance of publishing in peer-reviewed journals and to delineate the necessary steps and techniques to do so.

Dr. Bahameed's discussion focused on the inherent challenges in translating musical and poetic works. His research was guided by a purpose to enrich the field of translation studies by exploring the feasibility of translating songs and poems.

Dean Al-Melhi and Dr. Bader Eddin Participate in Sports Governance Forum

On January 20, 2020, the Abha Palace Hotel hosted the Sports Governance Forum under the patronage of Asir Governor, Prince Turki bin Talal bin Abdul Aziz. The forum, held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., provided a platform for key stakeholders from around the Kingdom and overseas to navigate the unique challenges of sports governance, initiate new endeavors, and implement collaborative solutions.

Dr Bader Eddin Earns Rigorous ITI Qualified Member Status

In a previous report on September 1, 2019, we announced that Dr. Eyhab Abdulrazak Bader Eddin, a member of our faculty, had been recognized as a Qualified Member (Translator) by the United Kingdom's Institute of Translation and Interpreting (ITI) for the English to Arabic language combination. Founded in 1986, ITI has since grown to comprise 3,000 members.

Team Blue Takes It Home

After overturning the agreement that last Wednesday would be the final match of the Fall 2019 Semester, an enthusiastic FC clt once again thoroughly enjoyed an entertaining game last night on December 18, 2019. Despite having a hapless, Azaad Hayat, aptly labelled as "worse than the worst of the worst ...ever..goalkeepers" by an observant Dr. Mahmoud Radwan, Team Blue still managed to win quite comfortably. Team Orange Clinches Nail Biting Overtime Victory Against Team Blue to End FC clt Season

In an energy-packed night which saw a perfectly full moon substituting for a number of fused floodlights, Team Blue and Team Orange of the Bachelor of Arts in English program faced off in the final match of the semester. Although the guys donning orange once again ran out narrow winners, there was very little difference between the strengths of the two sides. Because all of the players on the field tried their utmost to impress the judges, it is once again a travesty of justice to choose "The Man of the Match".
