On October 9th, 2023, King Khalid University's Department of Translation, led by Dr. Eisa Asiri and significantly supported by the Translation Unit, concluded its groundbreaking Tourism Translator Competition with remarkable success. The event was honored by the presence of His Excellency Prof. Faleh Al-Solami, the University President, and served as an innovative initiative that aligns with the tourism goals outlined in Saudi Vision 2030.
Spearheaded by the College of Languages and Translation, the event drew over 100 students from universities across the kingdom. Participants were tasked with translating key tourism texts in English, Chinese, and French, through written, interpretation, and audio-visual methods. Dr. Ahmad Ismail Assiri, the Dean of the Faculty, emphasized the competition's alignment with the university's broader mission and the Asir Development Strategy known as 'Qimam and Shem.'
