This qualitative descriptive study employs stylistic analysis to investigate T. S. Eliot’s Morning at the Window and Sylvia Plath’s Edge, examining how symbolism, imagery, themes, and tone articulate artistic influences and intensify thematic depth. The analysis first focuses on these poetic devices—particularly symbolism—to reveal how each poet’s techniques shape expression and contribute to the overall significance of the works.
A second analytical phase explores how themes emerge through the authors’ word choices and sentence structures, emphasizing the role of symbolic imagery in conveying profound emotions and ideas. By detailing how Eliot and Plath deploy stylistic elements to enhance thematic and emotional impact, the study enriches appreciation of their poetry and underscores the power of deliberate stylistic choices in shaping readers’ interpretation.
