Trados Academic Partnership

College of Languages and Translation

Our curriculum includes a practice of Trados.

This partnership agreement was initiated in April 2023. Trados, a pioneering and industry-leading translation productivity suite, will provide our students with cutting-edge tools and invaluable experience in professional translation technology. Specifically, Trados will benefit our programs as follows:

BA in English Program

  • Introduce students to the most widely used translation software in the industry
  • Enhance skills in content management and multilingual document processing

BA in Translation Program

  • Provide comprehensive hands-on experience with Trados Studio's advanced features
  • Develop proficiency in translation memory management and terminology databases
  • Prepare students for client-specific translation requirements and file handling

Master in Applied Linguistics

  • Enable research in translation technology, including neural machine translation integration
  • Support advanced corpus analysis and terminology extraction studies

Master in TEFL

  • Facilitate the development of multilingual educational resources
  • Explore the application of translation technology in language assessment and materials development

Master in Translation

  • Offer in-depth training on Trados' full suite of tools, including TeamWorks for collaboration
  • Develop expertise in managing complex localization projects and diverse file formats
  • Explore advanced features like adaptive machine translation and translation quality assessment

PhD in Applied Linguistics

  • Support sophisticated research projects in translation studies and natural language processing
  • Enable large-scale multilingual data analysis for linguistic research
  • Investigate the impact of AI-driven translation tools on language acquisition and pedagogy
