Probing the necessity and advantages of AI integration training for EFL educators in Saudi Arabia

This study investigates the need for specialized training in artificial intelligence integration for educators teaching English as a Foreign Language in Saudi Arabia. Employing a mixed-methods approach that includes surveys and interviews with EFL teachers, the research identifies significant gaps in current professional development programs related to emerging AI technologies. The analysis highlights that many educators lack formal training, which limits their ability to effectively incorporate AI-driven tools into their instructional practices.

The findings indicate that implementing AI integration training can enhance teaching methodologies, promote more personalized learning experiences, and increase overall classroom engagement. Educators who participated in training reported improved confidence and a better understanding of how to leverage AI to support language acquisition, leading to more dynamic and effective learning environments. The study concludes by emphasizing the importance of establishing comprehensive training programs to ensure that EFL educators are well-equipped to meet the challenges of a rapidly evolving educational landscape.
