National Day Celebration
The English Club at the Women's College of the Faculty of Languages and Translation hosted a vibrant celebration in honor of the 88th Saudi National Day. Held on September 26, 2018, and orchestrated under the supervision of Ms. Norah Al-Qahtani, the event perfectly encapsulated the spirit of patriotism and unity.
The festivities commenced with the stirring notes of the national anthem, setting a tone of reverence and pride. This was followed by an inspirational recitation from the Holy Quran, grounding the proceedings in cultural and religious significance.
The students took the lead next, delivering a welcoming speech that spoke to their enthusiasm and commitment to this momentous occasion. Dr. Khlood Abu Melha further elevated the atmosphere with her own thoughtful address. The celebrations were also enhanced by a video prepared by the Faculty of Languages and Translations titled "Saudi Arabia in the Eyes of Others," showcasing international perspectives on the nation.
The English Club demonstrated their creativity and cultural appreciation by assembling a corner dedicated to showcasing the rich and diverse cultures within Saudi Arabia. This included a colorful display of regional cuisines and souvenirs from various parts of the country. The event also recognized and honored Saudi Arabia's martyred soldiers with a poignant photo tribute, acknowledging their sacrifices on this important day.
The celebrations drew to a close after the distribution of awards and prizes, courtesy of the Deanship of Student Affairs. However, the spirit of engagement persisted, as Dr. Khlood Abu Melha, Dr. Hannan Alsaidi, and Dr. Fatima Shaaban conducted an animated question and answer session with the students, fostering a lively dialogue that encapsulated the essence of the day's festivities.
