To have your courses equated, you need to access the university's online system. First, log in to Academia and navigate to "My Services." From there, select "Request External Equivalency." Add all the courses you've previously studied and wish to have equated. Make sure to attach the course descriptions for each course along with your request. Once you've added all the necessary information and attachments, save your request. The university will then process your external equivalency request.
To be eligible for external transfer, a student must meet several conditions. The student must have studied at a recognized institution, either a local university or college classified by the Ministry of Education, or a foreign university, college, or educational institution licensed by the competent authority in the country of study outside the Kingdom. The student's academic status must be "regular," and they must have a cumulative GPA from at least two semesters of study at their current institution. The student should not have studied for more than two academic years at their current institution, including periods of withdrawal and apology. Their cumulative average should be at least 3 out of 5 to enter the transfer competition, subject to available seats. Only the student's most recent academic record will be considered. The major to which the student is transferring must be an extension of their current major. Transfers from one academic degree to a higher academic degree are not permitted. Students must pass the criteria for comparison based on their cumulative grade points. To apply, students must submit an electronic application through the Academia admission portal within the specified period according to the announced university calendar. It's important to note that students who have transferred externally are not entitled to transfer internally after joining the university, and they must not have previously transferred from one university to another. For transfers to medical specialties, the comparison is made according to a weighted average: 50% of the student's cumulative average plus 50% of the qualifying percentage. This percentage is converted to an average out of 5, and the transfer is accepted provided that the student's average is not less than the lowest average transferred from university students. Finally, the student must have completed the preparatory year and been assigned to their university before submitting the external transfer application.
The external transfer dates are not fixed and are announced periodically by the university. To stay informed about these dates, students should regularly check two primary sources: the official King Khalid University website (www.kku.edu.sa) and the X (formerly Twitter) account of the Deanship of Admission and Registration (@regandadmkku). These platforms provide the most up-to-date information regarding external transfer application periods and related deadlines.
