Journey to Accreditation: CLT's Progress with NCAAA Standards
Focusing on Self-Evaluation Scales and Self-Study Reports for Quality Assurance
On September 15, 2019, Vice Dean of the Academic Development and Quality Deanship, Dr. Saeed Saad Hadi, welcomed NCAAA Consultant, Dr. Loay Abusalah, for an essential meeting. They were joined by Dean Abdullah Al-Melhi and the College of Languages and Translation's (CLT) Vice Dean of Academic Development and Quality, Dr. Abdulrahman Almosa. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the progress towards the CLT's accreditation.

NCAAA Standards Guiding Progress
During the summer, the CLT had submitted the required Self-Evaluation Scales report. Dr. Abusalah commended the diligent work, and shared that the next stage in the process was the submission of the Self-Study Report. This report substantiates each conclusion drawn in accordance with the NCAAA standards. These standards encompass the mission and goals, program management and quality assurance, teaching and learning, students, faculty members, learning resources, facilities, and equipment.
The Self-Study Report follows a three-pronged framework: the identification of specific policies, a brief explanation of the procedures for implementing those policies, and a comprehensive assessment loop which reviews and evaluates the strengths and weaknesses of each policy and effort.

Expressing his confidence in the CLT's ability to complete this next accreditation milestone successfully, Dr. Abusalah stated, "I am very happy with your work. The CLT's capabilities and commitment are clear, and the faculty's enthusiasm is palpable. I wish to see the Bachelor of Arts in English program accredited and I am committed to providing necessary assistance throughout the process."

At the conclusion of the meeting, Dean Al-Melhi expressed his appreciation for the faculty members' participation. He underscored the significance of gaining accreditation promptly and assured them of his personal commitment to this primary objective.
