On March 24, 2021, the Scientific Research Committee hosted a webinar, "Your Guide for MA Studying," featuring three post-graduate students - Ms. Warda Saad, Ms. Fatemah Abdulaziz, and Ms. Alaa Salem. They offered valuable insights and guidance for undergraduate students interested in pursuing Master's degrees.

Ms. Warda Saad, the first speaker, opened the session by challenging the attendees to consider their academic goals. She outlined the following objectives:

• Broadening your understanding in areas related to your field.
• Earning recognition.
• Cultivating relationships and networks.
• Leveraging available academic support.

Ms. Saad then detailed the expected academic rigor and commitment of the MA program. She emphasized the need for students to be prepared for an increase in workload, stay focused, properly cite their work, and consistently develop good study habits. She advised students to actively engage with their professors and supervisors, reminding them that any academic feedback is intended to guide, not criticize, personal development.

The second speaker, Ms. Fatemah Abdulaziz, discussed the importance of scientific research, particularly highlighting the key role of comprehensive and effective reading skills. She underscored the use of skimming and scanning techniques, reinforcing that continual reading is paramount to expanding knowledge. Ms. Abdulaziz also urged students to develop their critical thinking and discussion skills.

In addition, Ms. Abdulaziz emphasized the practicality of digital resources. She suggested using platforms like YouTube for additional learning materials and Grammarly for plagiarism checks. She concluded her remarks by encouraging students to "Celebrate small achievements on the way to your goal."

Ms. Alaa Salem, the third speaker, focused on research areas within Applied Linguistics. She referred to the book "Contemporary Applied Linguistics" to illustrate various aspects such as the globalization of language, the death of languages, the interplay between language and economy, poverty, religion, family, culture, translation, and neuroscience. She highlighted how language becomes a reflection of one's intelligence, reinforcing this through a story about a Filipino worker. Additionally, she underscored the potential research avenues in Neurolinguistics, Speech Disorders, and Sign Language.

The webinar successfully provided undergraduate students with comprehensive insights into the Master's program, thanks to the enlightening presentations from all three speakers.
