The inaugural Annual Admissions Exhibition of King Khalid University recently took place, offering a dedicated platform to guide aspiring students through the significant transition from high school to university life.

Faculty and staff joined forces for the initiative, aiming to cultivate a sense of belonging and confidence among incoming students. This unique program provided first-year students an early opportunity to assess their academic prowess, interests, and educational aspirations, setting them up for a successful start to their university journey. By introducing students to the expectations and opportunities at King Khalid University, the exhibition helped them align their unique abilities and interests with suitable academic majors.

Dr. Abdullah Al-Melhi, the Dean, emphasized the program's significance: “It is important for students to have the opportunity to interact with their classmates and instructors before classes begin.”

The Faculty of Languages and Translation stood out with a slew of interactive sessions, offering a wealth of information and support to the incoming students. These sessions included:

  • An IELTS Information Session led by Abdul Rauf Khan
  • A Language Enhancement Program headed by Dr. Charles Forman
  • A Course Registration Overview guided by Nasser Hawamdeh and Farook Haji
  • An Academic Counseling Overview provided by Dr. Basim Kanaan
  • An E-Learning Overview presented by Mohsin Khan
  • A general welcome message delivered by Matthew Paul
  • A lively interactive Q&A Session with a diverse range of faculty members

The exhibition welcomed parents and families, inviting them to familiarize themselves with the campus, its policies, procedures, and services.

Kudos to all faculty members for their representation, particularly Dr. Ali Alamir, Vice Dean, and Dr. Fahad Otaif, Vice Dean for Academic Development and Quality, whose leadership steered the Faculty of Languages and Translation to contribute significantly to the event's success.

As we look ahead to the start of the new semester in September 2016, the incoming class of 2020 prepares to embark on their academic journey, joining the ranks of their upperclassmen in the pursuit of success.
