Empowering New Students: 15th E-Learning Awareness Campaign

Familiarizing with Blackboard for Academic Success

Under the patronage of Dean Dr. Abdullah Al-Melhi and the supervision of Vice Dean for Academic Development and Quality Dr. Abdulrahman Almosa, the E-Learning Unit of the Bachelor of Arts in English program organized its 15th E-Learning Awareness Campaign. The event, which targeted new students in the English Department, took place from Sunday, February 9, 2020, to Thursday, February 13, 2020.

Vice Dean Almosa expressed his appreciation for the E-Learning Unit's diligent efforts in organizing the campaign and emphasized the importance of student participation in these educational activities.

Familiarizing New Students with Blackboard LMS

The Supervisor of the E-Learning Unit at the College of Languages and Translation, Mohsin Raza Khan, explained that the campaign was designed to familiarize new students with the King Khalid University E-Learning learning management system, Blackboard. He stressed the significance of understanding how to use this tool effectively for academic success.

Throughout the campaign, the E-Learning Unit team connected with students in their respective classrooms, providing them with hands-on Blackboard training. The sessions covered vital Blackboard tools such as Announcements, Lectures, Assignments & Tests, Discussions, Blogs, Wikis, Course Messages, Blackboard Collaborate Ultra, and Blackboard Collaborate. Each tool was extensively demonstrated and explained, ensuring students felt confident in their ability to use them.
