This experimental study explores the effectiveness of gamification on improving English speaking skills among elementary students in Saudi Arabia. Conducted with 32 fifth-grade female students from Al-Shabeen Elementary School, the study divided participants into an experimental group, which engaged in gamified language activities, and a control group receiving traditional instruction. Results showed that the experimental group achieved significant gains in pronunciation, fluency, vocabulary, and accuracy compared to the control group, highlighting gamification's potential in language learning.
Observational data supported these findings, revealing that students in the experimental group exhibited higher motivation, enthusiasm, and persistence in tasks, with active participation and curiosity about learning. Gamification elements such as points, rewards, and interactive tasks boosted engagement, creating a more dynamic learning environment. The study concludes that integrating gamified methods can enhance speaking proficiency and foster a positive classroom atmosphere, suggesting its broader application in EFL curricula to support student engagement and communication skills. Further research is recommended to examine long-term effects and adaptations for diverse educational contexts.
