Rbrul Statistics Workshop
On Wednesday, February 19, 2020, the Women's Scientific Research Committee, part of the Bachelor of Arts in English program, organized a hands-on workshop on the application of Rbrul software. The session was facilitated by Dr. Khairia Ali Abu Dady, an Assistant Professor of Sociolinguistics.
Dr. Abu Dady began her session by exploring the wide-ranging applications of Rbrul in various scientific investigations, highlighting its particular importance in the field of sociolinguistics. She further elucidated her points with valuable practical examples, emphasizing the relevance and utility of the software.
Moving into the hands-on segment of the workshop, Dr. Abu Dady navigated the participants through the installation process of the Rbrul software. She then guided the attendees as they worked with data files using the newly installed application. The workshop proved to be educational and engaging, familiarizing participants with the use of Rbrul in conducting scientific research. The session was attended by staff members as well as members of the scientific research committee.
It's worth noting that this is not Dr. Abu Dady's first engagement with a Rbrul workshop. During the first semester, she had conducted a similar workshop organized by the Language Research Center, where she provided an introduction to the software. The latest workshop provided a deeper dive into the practical usage of Rbrul, further enhancing the participants' skills in employing this vital research tool.
