Innovations in English Pedagogy: The 5th Annual Teaching Forum
A Collaborative Platform for Modern English Language Teaching Strategies
On March 23, 2019, the 5th Annual Forum, "Modern Strategies in Teaching English," took place at the Saudi German Hospital. The College of Languages and Translation, in partnership with Al Khaleej Training and Education, orchestrated the event. The forum's central objective was to provide a platform for discussing contemporary concepts in English language teaching. The event unfolded under the expert guidance of Dr. Mowafiq Al-Momani, consisting of two sessions and six enlightening presentations.
A Spectrum of Pedagogical Insights:
Michael Rattan delivered a compelling presentation titled "How to Learn?" whereas Jordan Rimpela explored the topic of "The Benefits of Teaching ELLs Affixes, Roots, and Their Meanings." Bryan Bell, Mohammad Adil, and Christopher Harris each presented on distinct but equally essential topics - "The Psychology of Classroom Dynamics," "Successful Classroom Management in EFL Teaching," and "Living and Working in Saudi Arabia," respectively.

Additionally, Ahmed Abdullah Alamoud, a medical Preparatory Year Program (PYP) student, shared his unique experiences learning English. He underscored the significance of the English language in real-life scenarios, adding a personal perspective to the theoretical discussions of the day.
Forum Culminated in Certificate Awards, Graced by ELC Director Dr. Musa Al-Ahmari
The event culminated in a certificate award ceremony, honouring the valuable contributions of the presenters. Dr. Musa Al-Ahmari, the English Language Center Director, graced the ceremony with his presence. The forum's success was unequivocal, highlighting the continued dedication of the College of Languages and Translation and Al Khaleej Training and Education to advancing English language teaching strategies.
