The Faculty of Languages and Translation at King Khalid University has officially concluded the Fall 2018 semester, marking the end of an exceptionally successful and transformative period.

Over the course of the semester, the college made significant strides in foundational quality improvements. There were updates to several course specifications, syllabi, and student learning outcomes in the department. In collaboration with the relevant colleges served by the English Language Center, the faculty also made adjustments to the center's course specifications. These changes were enacted with the aim of enhancing the student experience and better preparing them for their future academic pursuits and career paths.

In addition, rigorous measurement and evaluation tools for all courses have been introduced, reflecting the highest standards found in leading universities globally. Our international collaboration efforts have further been reinforced through continued negotiations for a major partnership with the University of Swansea. "The Faculty of Languages and Translation is unrelentingly committed to continuous improvement in all our programs," affirmed Dean Abdullah Al-Melhi.

The semester also saw significant process enhancements concerning examinations within the department and the English Language Center. The Exam Committee focused extensively on maintaining the integrity and security of tests. Rigorous quality control guidelines were instituted to ensure that all examinations remain consistent, thorough, and fair for all students. An increased emphasis on test security led to a substantial reduction in incidents of cheating and accidental disclosure of examination material.

Vice Dean Dr. Yahya Asiri commended the team, stating, "I'm grateful to the Exam Committee and our entire faculty for their diligent work and commitment to ensuring that our final examinations are secure, fair, and an accurate reflection of student performance. This is no small task, but our faculty members have shown unwavering dedication and achieved excellent results." Chairman Dr. Munassir Alhamami also noted a reduction in cheating cases this semester due to tighter process controls and faculty vigilance.

The Faculty of Languages and Translation remains steadfast in its dedication to continuous improvement in language education and the overall student experience. Despite the successes of the past semester, there's no resting on laurels, and we eagerly look forward to more improvements in the semesters ahead.

As the semester closes, we acknowledge that all our students, faculty, staff, and administrators have certainly earned their rest. We wish everyone a refreshing and enjoyable week off!
