On November 25, 2018, the English Club partnered with the Reading Club to host the Annual Spelling Bee Competition. The event was a showcase of linguistic prowess as more than 20 students from diverse educational levels, colleges, and nationalities participated. Both the organizers and participants devoted an immense amount of preparation time for the event, given the expansive vocabulary culled from a comprehensive fictional story provided beforehand.

The atmosphere was electrified with competitive spirit as the spelling bee played out over three challenging elimination rounds. These rounds often ended with just a point or two separating the competitors. The event, spanning nearly three hours, tested the participants on hundreds of vocabulary words. Event Judge, Mahmudul Haque, ensured the competition progressed smoothly amidst the high-spirited rivalry. Khalid Al-Qasemi, the Director of the English Club, expressed satisfaction with the event, stating, "The large turnout and the earnest approach of the participants towards the event was highly gratifying."

Cash prizes were awarded to the top performers. Mohammed Al-Yami, a level 1 clt student, secured the first place. Firas Al-Hajj, an engineering student, clinched the second spot, and the third place was taken by Mohammed Ahmed, a university student.

Dr. Charles Forman, the Wordsmith of the event, praised all the participants, noting, "While the competitive spirit of this competition is truly commendable, the participants achieved something even greater than bragging rights and monetary prizes – they enriched their learning experience through participation."
